Workshops and Training Opportunities
The Regional Prevention Center of Shawnee and Osage Counties offers several workshops and trainings each year. Check back often to learn about upcoming presentations. You can also sign up to receive e-mail updates about training opportunities.
Kansas Baseline
Kansas Baseline is a two-day training, intended to increase awareness of the impact of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD) on the individual, family, school, and community. This interactive training provides participants with opportunities to explore their beliefs about ATOD and to incorporate new knowledge into their personal and professional lives.
Baseline training will be held March 22-23. It is only offered one time this year and seating is limited, so reserve your spot today!
The cost is $75. Lunch will not be provided. The workshop will run 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. both days.
Understanding Addiction
This one-day training is intended to increase understanding of chemical and non-chemical addictions. Brain chemistry, theories of addiction, impact to family systems, and cultural aspects are discussed. The training includes videos, interactive learning, case reviews, and a folder full of helpful resources!
Understanding Addiction is scheduled for May 15 and October 10, 2012.
The cost is $50. Lunch is provided. The workshop runs 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
